This is something i call the :"salmon principle". You guys wanna know what is that?its simple.Think like a salmon. But why?Let me illustrate it to you.

A particular life cycle of a salmon involves its maturity stage in which it swims upstream after full maturity to lay eggs. What is it swimming against?WATERFALL!! and it hard work..it can tire anyone out.Even we humans can do it.But we can do it in our life.Once u see it as a waterfall,u can swim against the current and fight ur way up.

Remember one of pastor Kong's sermon on Success?in genesis 26:1,12-13,it says that a particular contrarion (people who go against popular thinking;what i call "salmon people") Sowed during a famine. His name was Isaac.

Gen26:1 There was a famine in the land, besides the first famine that was in the days of Abraham. And Isaac went to Abimelech king of the Philistines, in Gerar..............
12 Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. 13 The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous;(NKJV)

Wowow look at that.He went against the common menatlity that its stupid to sow in a drought area>And he REAPED supernaturally.Try using that in ur situation..be it ur studies or whatsoever. For me,defeat aint fatal and Failure is definitely not final.I can still come up with solutions (creative ones too!!) to fight it out.Have u ever heard of famous entrepreneurs in singapore who did not have O level certificates and still manage to make it big? This are uncommon and rare cases.Rare because no one ever did that Before, and they attianed a level of breakthrough never imagined.Rock on GUYS!!!!(of course getting a good education is good, but some people wanted to pursue their own interest and took jobs TOTALLY irrelevant to their field of studies.and i wonder what are they studying for when in the first place they could get online or buy a book to educate themselves instead of wasting money to take an educational course!!!) But its good though.....SO if u had no interest in something...DONT pursue it against ur will.Or find creative ,alternative solutions.Drive ur passions.Have fun.

the following are some texts taken from John C. Maxwell's "leadership wired".It will help u on ur personal communication and realtional skills.

    IMAGE ALIGNMENT
    By Dr. John C. Maxwell

When I was fairly young, I was a pretty decent communicator. The upside to that was that I received some great opportunities to speak. The downside, however, was that I was often in over my head at these events.
For example, when I was 33, I was asked to speak at a youth conference at a state university campus. A few aspects of this engagement made me very nervous. For one thing, there would be 14,000 kids in the audience. For another, I had never spoken in such a big arena. And to make matters even worse, I was following a speaker who was much better and much more experienced than I was.
I well remember how I felt when I was preparing to go out on stage. The lights were bright and I couldn't see the audience. I knew there were 14,000 people out there, but all I saw was a big black hole. As someone who communicates best when I'm eye to eye with people, this made me very uncomfortable. I felt completely inadequate.
Not surprisingly, I bombed. It truly was one of those speeches that only my mother could have applauded.
Looking back, it's easy to see how my self-image—how I viewed myself—had a direct bearing upon my effectiveness—or lack thereof—that day. After that experience, I began to understand that leaders must believe in themselves before they can ever hope to believe in their people. I also realized that, as a leader, if I've not bought in to myself, no one else is going to buy in to me either.
Each one of us has an internal mirror that reflects how we see ourselves. And what we see in this mirror determines how we act as leaders. In other words, our self-image determines our behavior. That's why it's impossible for a person with a poor self image to produce consistently on a high level. It simply can't happen, because we cannot conduct our daily affairs in a way that contradicts how we see ourselves. On the other hand, when a leader believes he can do a good job and views himself as successful, his actions will show it.
Have you ever gone to a funhouse at a carnival and looked in one of those distorted mirrors? From one angle, you look as skinny as a rail; from another, you look bigger than an elephant. That's not how you really are, of course, but because the mirror is distorted, your image also is distorted.
Sadly, many leaders don't have an accurate picture of themselves because their internal mirrors are distorted. Because they're unable to see themselves as they really are, they're forever trying to find the right image to present to others. Some project an image that is bigger than they really are; others project an image that is smaller than they really are. Either way, the result is internal confusion.
A key to effectiveness—in life and as a leader—is to project a true image of who you are. The only problem is that we all carry with us four images of ourselves that can cause us to act differently with different people. These four images are:
    1. The image that others have of us. This is how the people around us—the ones who observe us at our best and our worst—see us.
    2. The image that we project to others. This is how we want others to view us.
    3. The image we have of ourselves. This is how we actually view ourselves. Many times, this image does not match what we project to others.
    4. Our true self. This includes our character and gifts; it represents who we were created to be.
When these four images don't match, we know it. This awareness might be subconscious, but it's there nonetheless. And it weighs us down.
The solution lies in making sure that these four images are as closely aligned as possible. You see, we can be emotionally healthy only when the image that other people have of us, the image that we project to others, the image that we have of ourselves and our true selves all match. The more distortion there is—among any or all of these images—the less healthy our self-image is, and the less effective our leadership will be.
Marcus Aurelius said, "I often marvel how it is that, though each man loves himself beyond all else, he should yet value his own opinion of himself less than that of others." As I learned so many years ago, when it comes to leadership, the first person you must believe in is yourself. The mirror reminds me that I must read myself well before I can ever attempt to read others.

ever wonder how coulf do that?As i read John C. maxwell's book entitled failing forward,i was pretty much impressed by his definition of success and failure. It is just simply that failure means that there is something that is hindering u from obtaining what u wanted.

    #1 See the big picture.

You got to know that once u have success, it doesnt mean that everything had ended.Sure, there is an alpha and omega...but the end is more majestic than u and i ever knew or felt. The end of hard work is something that is indescribable and beyond words.U can always add something to ur success and make it better.frankly speaking right now i am retaking my Os and i am not ashamed of it.True,it may be risky. But i have seen the big picture. Most people would say that if u failed means that u did not study. To me no matter how i studied, i always get borderline grades that can be scary if it plunges. Now,to have seen the big picture really makes me want to kick myself!!! I realised that i have a habit of not answering the question specifically and not reading and undersatnding given sources before hand.Old habits die hard and the same level of marks hit me time and time again. If u have seen one of my posts in http://lifesavinglove.blogspot.com/2005/05/abandoning-secular-teachings.html, entitled "abandoning secular teachings:1)boys don't cry , u may have guessed what i did when i saw my horrendous results. I cried. But every time after each "session" of crying, i realised God made me more mature. In the last part of 1st or 2nd corinthians,Christ said "my grace is sufficient for ur weaknesses". I calimes his grace and each time became more mature after letting my tears flow.I realised i learnt an important lesson........

    #2 Be patient with urself.!!!

What was the lesson? i learnt to be patient with myself. Most failures tend to rush and work harder,as John C. Maxwell said in the book.Instead, focus on ur strenghts and give urself incentives, encourage urself everytime u hit a breakthrough in a certain area,be it ur habits in answring questions,or some other small things.of course, there is absolutely no room at all for complacency.Rock on,guys!!!!Grow strong, not Grow fast. remember that:

"We have borne the image of the earth; we shall bear the image of the heavenly (I CORINTHIANS 15:49-50)."

victory is yours for the taking.

Have u ever doubted if God was ever in ur life or does he really exist?its ok to doubt.God is frank with ur doubts and worries.juts pour it out to him.when i doubt,i always remind myself of the coming of antichrist spirit.why?like sometimes ,as the word says,we are being insulted. And Jesus said before he returns, there will be wars, pestilences, false prophets and lawlessness. Now this four will always remind me that these are evidences for existence of God.
here are some of my conclusions from informations taken from newspapers.

    #1:Wars.

Wars are happening lately.U see american and iraqis fighting on the war of terror, starting from afghanistan since sept 11,2001. U see wars between phillipine guerillas an neighbouring countries.

    #2:Pestiliences.

All over china, america and banda aceh news reports of floods ,mudslides and landslides, and tidal waves hit these regions.

    #3.False prohets.

Cults, radical religious groups have emerged over the past few decades, killing in the name of God,and claiming that it is an honor.Horrors abound.

    #4.lawlessness.

Today a large number of youths and adults are contributing to increasing crime rate.Rape, murder, assault, arson are but a few examples.

So why are all of these happening?there can only be one reason, and that is the devil. He hates humans and are scheming for our death, not wanting us to recieve salvation in God,or killing evangelists,so that there will be less people to spread the Good news.Logical?think about it.

Expect a revival in ur Faith!!! embrace Faith and Trust, not Fear and Doubt.

'Woe to the inhabiters [the rulers] of the earth, and of the sea [the people in general]! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time. Revelation 12: 12

"And you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places." Matt 24;6-7

    Questions,misconceptions

misconception 1# believe in science contradicts belief in God

Funny thing i once tried to preach the gospel to one of my highly intellectual friend who believed in science more than God. Let me tell u this right now......there is no conflict between science and God.Why then can u explain the fact that more and more scientists are becoming christians?well,u don't have to surrender ur intelligence to believe in almight loving God!!! It may sound stupid but give this a thought:no matter how good we are at science or even earned doctorates and degrees,ph.d's on science.the ultimate truth wins out:humans did not create this earth. this is the greatest misconception secular people have when coming to christ!!!!

misconception 2# We must become poor people to be christians

Told u!!!so if u have any doubts....dun worry!!!u have a good intelligent mind..so don't waste it!!Of course..being a christian does not mean u have to be poor..what little u have ...will be added on unto u!!!!
2 corinthains8:9 For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich. WEB
Be rich!!!use ur money the way God intends u to use it!!Bless others with a meal,a good book that can change their life etc.Year freely share ur money

prov 11:24 A man may give freely, and still his wealth will be increased; and another may keep back more than is right, but only comes to be in need. BBE
more misconceptions to be covered.until then!

EPH 6:12 For ours is not a conflict with mere flesh and blood, but with the despotisms, the empires, the forces that control and govern this dark world--the spiritual hosts of evil arrayed against us in the heavenly warfare. (WEY)

1#pray over the airs of the building or over individuals you want to light of God to shine upon.
pray that they will be set free from darkness to light....to experience true life!!!

john 1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend[a] it. (nkjv)

acts 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them who are sanctified by faith that is in me. WBS

john 14:6 Jesus says to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father unless by me. (DBY)

2# pray with the armor of God and with all supplication

Ephesians 6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (KJV)

Ephesians 6:14Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. 15For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared.[b] 16In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.[c] 17Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere.

prayer can certainly be like arrows.U can aim it 50,000 miles at someone anywhere in the world.God is not bound by distance when he moves through faith and sovereignty.

Ephesians 6:18 with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints, (ASV)

.................So one day, this man leaves his body in his room and goes astro-travelling. And leads a mighty force of demonic spirits against this church. Now this is his testimony. He was moving in the spirit in the air over the church and they were trying to attack, but there was a covering of light over the church. And suddenly, there was an army of angels that attacked them and there was fighting in the air, and all the demons fled, but he was arrested. Arrested by whom? The angels! And he saw himself being held by about six angels, and they brought him through the roof right before the altar. And there he was. And the people were praying. They were deep in prayer in spiritual warfare, binding and breaking and casting out. And the pastor was on the platform leading the prayers and the warfare. And the Spirit of the Lord spoke to the pastor, and said,"The yoke has been broken, and the victim is there before you. Help him through deliverance." And he opened his eyes and he saw this young man, who had collapsed there. His body was with him. He was in his body. The young man says he doesn't know how his body joined him; he had left it in his house. But there he was in his body, and he didn't know how he had entered in except the angel had carried him through the roof. ........................

If u are dreaming of revival,u first need to have christlike qualities and Godly attitudes that win people over.here are a list of some of them.

    #1 forgiveness

john20: 23 If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained." (NKJV)

    a)removes distraction

When u retain other people's hurts in you,u get all unhappy and resentful on the inside that u shut off all communications with somebody whom offended you.Forgiving is not being holy,it is simply freeing yourself from any forms of distractions that are unnecessary.I remember as a student i constantly failed my class tests and exams, especially maths. Why?i held on to other people's trespasses against me,especially from two guys who laughed the loudest, thinking that they are better then me.From that day onwards,i grew an intense dislike for mathematics, whenever i did maths, that image flashes into my mind.People laughed at me...i felt so depressed and useless.Especially in Singapore that has a KBE(Knowledge Based Economy ) resource scheme ,math is so important that without it you cant go anywhere, even if u have talents.

    b) heals

i vividly remember when i got a whole bunch of trauma in me.Once,my mother shouted at me in public because she caught me hanging out with my friends when in the first place the tutorial for that day has been cancelled. From that day onwards i had a mentality that whatever i did,it would be wrong in her eyes.I suffered from this trauma and had no confidence in myself. It was not long that i talked to God about it that the following day my mother apologised after much thought. It had been months since that day and i was wondering why she apologised for something that took place so long ago and is not significant to me anymore.I only talked to God about overcoming my trauma and not what happened that day.Immediately after hse apologised,i felt free from my fears for the first time and now i am enjoying a life that is from self condemning to non condemning.THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS IS GREAT.IT RECONCILES,SETS YOU FREE FROM FEARS,UNHAPPINESS AND GRANTS YOU LIFELONG,ETERNAL PEACE,AND JOY WITH MANY OTHERS.

2#don't judge a book by its cover.
john 7:24 Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment. ( ASV)

You cant decide on people's faces.they may look as if they are unlikely to become christians. Some have animal like faces, some have demonic faces. Some have alien faces. There are all kinds of faces. The purpose is to train you not to judge but to look on the inside.when i see someone,i always think "what is it that this person knows that may help me to advance the kingdom of God?what is the person's potential?abilities?if this person was won over, will this person become someone great for God?"

3#believe the best about people.Say good things.
proverbs 26:24Pleasant words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones. (WEB)
Bad speech can sap a person's confidence.it can also make somebody resentful against u.the power to mould or brek someone depends on what u say.consider this:

James3:5 So also, the tongue is a small thing, but what enormous damage it can do. A tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. 6And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is full of wickedness that can ruin your whole life. It can turn the entire course of your life into a blazing flame of destruction, for it is set on fire by hell itself. (nlt)

james3:9 Sometimes it praises our Lord and Father, and sometimes it breaks out into curses against those who have been made in the image of God. 10And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right! 11Does a spring of water bubble out with both fresh water and bitter water? 12Can you pick olives from a fig tree or figs from a grapevine? No, and you can't draw fresh water from a salty pool. (nlt)

Use ur words to heal, not to kill.yeah??
